If you’re promoting a web site in an email, you want to make it as easy as possible for people to remember and visit that site. When you type or cut-n-paste the web address, include the whole URL, like this, including the HTTP bits:
Most email programs will allow curious readers to double click on a complete URL, taking them directly to your web site (in their default web browser). Also, with multi-word domain names, use capital letters (like I did above) to designate the first letter of each word; this just makes it easier to read (since you can’t use spaces).
Not all email applications and services work the same. Some allow slick formatting options which others cannot read. This is a lowest common denominator approach, which should be readable and effective in most email software.
